"The first time I saw the Sea Inside live was in October of last year. I hopped on the bandwagon a little late, as the boys formed the group approximately four and half years ago, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love them more than anyone else (duh!). Their astounding raw talent never ceases to blow my mind during their live sets, and their lyrics are absolutely phenomenal."

Starting today and continuing everyday until February 5th, the big show
day at Revival, we will be featuring one song from the forthcoming, DOS
(pronounced with a long "o"). The songs will be featured in the final
order that they will be stacked on the disc. Each day, a member of TSI
will share their personal thoughts about the track being featured. We are
excited about this process and can't believe that we are 12 days away from
debuting the disc for our family, friends, and fans at the disc launch.
We are enjoying every step of this journey, and are working hard to get
used to new phenomena in our live show such as lighting cues, live
strings, and Cali playing so hard he is breaking strings. It appears that
we are now unapologetically and officially a rock band.

Thanks to all who
have already purchased tickets to the show. It is humbling to think that
this thing could sell out in advance.

Thanks for sharing this next 12
days with us.

We have a holiday surprise for you. We have been busy in the studio for the last couple of weeks recording a Christmas favorite. One of the signatures of our sound is the interesting tom work that Jeff Eden, our drummer, consistently creates. We never know what to expect and it is always a new twist on rhythm in our work. For this reason, we thought it appropriate to record Carol of the Drums (Little Drummer Boy) as a
surprise for everyone. It will be available here to download very soon.
All we ask is that you give to, volunteer for, or spread awareness for a charitable organization during this holiday season. Our choice is Yonge Street Mission at www.ysm.ca. Spread the good cheer of this season with our version of a holiday classic. Of course, we put the TSI spin on it.

As you know, our new disc, DOS, is coming. The launch event for this momentous date is February 5th at Revival. Tickets are now on sale here at seainside.ca.
There are only 500 tickets available. This is our first all-ages show so we expect the show to sell-out in advance. Advance ticket purchases are $10. Tickets are $15 the day of the show.

To all our friends and fans,

This is a big day for us. We are announcing the official release of our disc, DOS (pronounced with a long "o"), on February 9th, 2010. We first went into the studio on September 16th, 2008. We have pretty much been wrestling with it ever since, and we are very confident that we got it right. The disc will be available here at our site.

Additionally, the disc will be available early at our DOS launch on Friday, February 5th at Revival on College. Tickets for this special performance will go on sale at noon on Saturday, December 12th on tsi.fm or at seainside.ca. More ticket locations will be announced as we close in on the on-sale date. For the first time, a TSI headlining show will be an all-ages event. It should be wild. We promise our biggest show yet.

Thanks for all of your support,
Cali, Danny, Jeff, and Piero collectively known as The Sea Inside

Thanks so much to all who attended Helter Shelter on Friday night. We are pleased to announce that $638 was donated directly to the Yonge Street Mission. Admittedly this was short of our goal this year, but it will go far in a year that we weren't planning on holding the benefit. The money donated will provide a holiday meal to over 200 people!

A very special thanks goes out to Algoma String Trio, Ray Melana, and John Roby for volunteering their time and music to the effort. It was an amazing night of music, world-class, as promised.

Please mark your calendars for Helter Shelter 2010 which be held on Friday, November 12th. Our goal next year will be $3862.

Keep coming back here to seainside.ca for updates and for some very exciting TSI news in the coming weeks...

The night will start with the classical string sounds of the Algoma String Trio, and continue acoustically with the solo guitar of Ray Melana. The evening will take a slight turn with the semi-conscious hip-hop of Toronto's own longtime favorites, Toolshed. It will veer back with the traditional piano pop of well-known Canadian composer, John Roby, and close with modern rock juggernaut, The Sea Inside. The world-class eclectic line-up for '09's Helter Shelter II benefit concert is an on-purpose and appropriate tribute to the powerful and diverse Toronto music landscape.

There is a minimum donation of $8 at the door, and all proceeds go to the Yonge Street Mission. Helter Shelter I raised $750. The Helter Shelter benefit concert will be held the second Friday of November every year with plans to double the donation of the previous concert. That puts this years goal at $1500. Helter Shelter II is simply a great night of Toronto music benefitting a great Toronto organization, Yonge Street Mission.

The Sea Inside is pleased to reinvigorate a successful benefit that we originated two years ago, the Helter Shelter concert series benefitting the Yonge Street Mission. Last year the concert was not held due to the fact that we were in the studio. This will never happen again. We have decided that no matter where we are or what we are doing, we will hold Helter Shelter every year, and are committed to doubling the previous years total contribution to the Yonge Street Mission.

Under The Song Initiative, the new philanthropic side of The Sea Inside organization, the Sea Inside is committed to hosting the Helter Shelter benefit concert every year. All proceeds go to the Yonge Street Mission. This year the concert will be held at Clinton's on Bloor on Friday, November 13th. Please continue to check right here for updates to the benefit roster. It is going to be an eclectic mix of genres based on folks who worked on our new disc, DOS, with us. It will be an amazing night of music.
